The Church along with all the Branches is registered under NCEASL- Sri lanka mainly for government concerns. The Church is part of the North Colombo Fellowship. Mizpah Mission has worked with the following fellowships in hosting conferences, youth camps, building projects, tsunami reliefs and flood reliefs: Galle, Hambantota, Balangoda, Trincomalee, Batticaloa,NuwaraEliya, Mannar, Jaffna, Kandy and Colombo.
Wattala is a large suburb of Colombo city, in Western Province, Sri Lanka, a little distance from Colombo city center. We recently started our branch at Wattala. The Assistant Pastor of Colombo church is in charge of the gathering. We have our service every Sunday evening and a there is a regular attendance of fifteen people every week.
Pas.S Vasanthan is truly a blessing to us. He came to know the Lord in 1996 through our ministry in Negombo. Having lost everything in business and lost hope in life he surrendered his life to God. Nearly ten years later According to Haggai 2: 23 he encountered God in a vision. The following year with the pastor’s counsel he entered into fulltime ministry with his wife at the Colombo church. And by the grace of God, God has made him and his family faithful to this mission for the past eleven years.
Queensberry is one of a Tea cultivation estate of Nawalapitiya as also it was originally established as a coffee plantation in the 1800s.
God enabled us to start the ministry in June 2013. Pas Ranjajeeva and his wife are in charge of the church. The mission first attracted school children through VBS but now has grown to be a church with sixty people attending every Sunday. Recently the village has made a protest to stop the church and threatened the pastor. So we are currently worshipping at a believer’s house a few miles away from the village , and God, on the other hand has also opened a way to purchase a land in the same region.
Mulliyawalai - The main town of Mullaitive district is situated on the Northern – Eastern coast of Northern Province Sri Lanka. The population is a mixture of fishermen and ex Tamil militants’ family members (many orphans and widows)
Pastor Satheesh who came to know the Lord through our ministry travelled to Saudi Arabia for work. Having constantly impressed in his heart that God has a higher calling for him back in Sri lanka , resigned his Job which paid SLR 80 000 and dedicated his life for full time ministry. Being trained in the Colombo church for two years he was put in charge of the Mulliayawali Church which was initially started by Pas Thomasing Chandrakumar. He is currently serving with his wife and children. The church being started during the war had gone through a lot of damages but God graciously has enabled us to dedicate a new building with seventy five members.
Plus the Government having seen the service and welfare offered by the church has handed us a nursery with twenty five children. The education is free for the children in the village.
Nawalapitiya It is a central province and in the Kandy district. It holds a special place in locomotive transportation in Sri Lanka. Since it’s one of railway’s three transports division headquarters. Nawalapitiya railway station is the second longest station in Sri Lanka. The economy depends mainly upon Tea cultivation.
This town has a special place in this ministry, because God promised our senior pastor in the year 2000 while he was on a ministry tour to Norwood. God promised a vision of thousand believers and we are happy to say that we are part of the process. Pas.Niroshan who has completed his theological Studies at Lanka Bible College is now in charge with his newly wedded wife. God has blessed us with wonderful church building and nearly hundred fifty members attend to worship every Sunday.
Meanwhile Pastor Thomasingh ChnadraKumar who came to know the Lord in the Year 1994 gave his life for full time ministry at the age of seventeen. In understanding God’s specific mission for this ministry the Church decided to plant its first branch in Vavuniya which was at that time under the control of the Tamil Tigers. Since 2002 Pastor Chandrakumar has been working in the war zone, Vavuniya with his wife and three children. God has blessed his ministry to be a church of seventy five members and many other little village churches which will be spoken in detailed in the following pages.
Kilinochchi is the main town of Kilinochchi District, Northern Province of Sri Lanka. Kilinochchi is situated at the A9 road some 100 km (62 mi) South-east of Jaffna. It was the administrative center and de facto capital of the LTTE (Tamil Tigers) until 2 January 2009, when troops of the Sri Lankan Army recaptured the city.
God enabled us to start a church with ten people three years ago. Now Bro. Joel who came to the Lord through Pas Chandrakumar in vavuniya is in charge of the sanctuary. We currently are worshipping with fifty people in a part of Bro. Joel’s premises.
Negombo is the 4th largest city in Sri Lanka and it is also the administrative capital center of Negombo division. Negombo is the major commercial hubs in Sri Lanka and it is very important economic center in the country with about 144,551 inhabitants within city limits. The City is called the little Rome due to the presence of Roman Catholism and its long standing roots
Pas Nelson who was a believer at our Nawalapitiya church is currently in charge of the church, which has hundred and fifty people attending every Sunday. He has completed his theological studies at Lanka Bible College Kandy and has been serving for the last four years with his wife and five year old kid. Through all the difficult times, God has kept his promise to the church and we, as a mother church are seeing a flourishing growth in the church since then. They are currently expanding their sanctuary to a two stored building which will accommodate a maximum of two hundred and fifty people with underground parking. Pas Nelson has also started a house church in Chilaw (46km from Negombo) with twenty people.
